Description

This game is extremely fun and tactical.

It seems easy to play until you actually have a go at judging time and distance, which is a crucial skill to aquire if you would like to do more fencing.

Watch the video too as James describes how he and his GB Teammates like this game, as it is as much about being clever and tactical as it is about being physically fast and powerful (just like top level fencing!).

How To Play

This game requires just two people to play.

Both people come On Guard (watch the video for instruction and to see what this looks like) with your sword hand (the one you use most often or which feels correct when your holding your sword).

Start roughly four metres away from your partner (make sure you are in a safe space to do activity).

You and your partner then decide who will be the first to ‘attack’.

The ‘attacker’ is trying to touch the hand of the ‘defender’.

The attacker is only allowed to do a step lunge (watch the video for instruction and to see how to do these actions), while the defender is allowed to move back as far as they like.

If the attacker fails to touch the defenders hand with the step lunge, the roles then switch. The defender becomes the attacker and vice versa.
